Mild Acne Treatment
Saturday, November 1st, 2008Acne is the condition caused by the inflammation of the sebaceous glands and hair follicles of the skin, resulting in pimples or pustules. Acne can affect anybody. Acne patients usually lose their self-confidence and their self-esteem goes down. As a result their social life suffers. It is a dermatological problem, needing urgent medical attention.There are three stages of acne - mild, moderate and severe.
Mild acne: Dermatologists define mild acne as the presence of not more than 3 dozen comedones and/or scattered papules, absence of big permanent lesions and lesions that cannot be seen from the distance of 2.5m on your skin. It has closed comedones, open comedones and papules. Anybody can suffer from it, infants to old people. It can affect any part of your body.
Management of mild acne: It is possible to manage mild acne in the following ways:
- 1. Topical gels, solutions and lotions or other over the counter medicines are widely used to treat mild acne.
- 2. Clean the infected areas 2 times a day with a mild cleanser. Excessive washing of the acne-affected area will not eliminate the acne. Avoid over-washing as well as using hard soaps.
- 3. Once you finish washing the affected area, apply the acne treatments. Apply these medications on the whole area instead of single places.
- 4. Apply the anti acne products 2 times a day.
